A vintage pair of 8x32 Leitz binoculars is up for grabs at a sale of scientific and musical instruments, plus cameras, at Tennants auction house in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, on Wednesday of next week. The pre-sale estimate is that the binoculars, which come with a leather case, will fetch between £80 and £120. Leitz, founded by Ernest Leitz, is a forerunner of what is now a more familiar brand, Leica (= LEItzCAmeras).
