Countdown to Action for Wildlife Day - but has Just Stop Oil been invited to join the party?

Wild Justice's three directors - Mark Avery, Ruth Tingay and Chris Packham - are likely to attend

IT'S all-systems-go for tomorrow's Action for Wildlife Day in Derbyshire.

The group called Hen Harrier Action is staging the free all-day family event at Severn Trent's Carsington Water reservoir in Derbyshire.

Among others to be represented will be the Woodland Trust, the RSPB, Derbyshire Wildlife Crime Unit, Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Wild Justice and a newish organisation called Protect The Wild.

Says the organisers: "There will be more than 20 stands and stalls, children's activities plus Gospel and folk music.

"We are hoping to send a out clear message to Westminster that wildlife and the environment cannot wait any longer for clear, decisive government action.

"We need Action for Wildlife now!"

Among the speakers will be  author and naturalist Mark Cocker who is expected to front a debate entitled 'Is It Too Late To Save British Nature?’

It is possible that, in some form or another, the high-profile climate-change activist group, Just Stop Oil, might be represented.

They are not listed in the preliminary programme, but it would seem a great opportunity for the group's passionately-committed supporters to ramp up their campaign.

And, as the rhyming slogan goes: You never know with JSO.
