This rare red-breasted goose seems comfortable enough in the company of  scores of Brent geese

The presence of up to 20 little gulls, seem here with a black-headed gull, were a highlight

Although not plentiful, common terns are conspicuous on the site

A whitethroat bangs out its exuberant 'melody'

Sedge warbler - a common summer resident on the reserve

This injured whooper swan is surviving - but for how much longer?

Often conspicuous from the car park during winter and spring, the lesser yellowlegs seems to have departed

Show me the way to the cafe! The reception area within the visitor centre
