VANDALS have dealt a blow to one of the hides at the Far Ings nature reserve on the outskirts of Barton-on-Humber.
Until it can be repaired, access has had to be closed by the site's owners, the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust..
For those hoping to catch a glimpse of reedbed species, it is possible to peer through a space in the adjacent hedge - but the experience is not quite so amenable.
The extend of the vandalism is not known, nor by what date the hide might be repaired and re-opened.
Fortunately, there are other hides on the reserve which offers views of similar habitat - home to bitterns, bearded tits, Cetti's warblers, sedge warblers, reed warblers and more.
